Getting an AdSense disapproval email is frustrating, especially when you don't know exactly what went wrong. The good news: almost every rejection reason is fixable. Here's a breakdown of the most common issues we see at DigiBelief, and how to resolve each one.
1. "Low Value Content"
This is the most common rejection. Google wants original, useful content — not thin pages, scraped articles, or auto-generated text.
- Write at least 15-20 genuinely useful pages/videos before applying.
- Avoid copying content from other sources, even with small edits.
- Add real value: examples, data, personal experience, clear explanations.
2. "Site Under Construction" or Navigation Issues
If your site has broken links, missing pages, or looks incomplete, Google will reject it. Make sure every page loads properly, navigation menus work, and there's no "Lorem Ipsum" placeholder text left anywhere.
3. Missing Privacy Policy
AdSense requires a visible Privacy Policy page that discloses use of cookies and third-party advertising (like Google AdSense itself). Add this before you apply, not after.
4. Copyright or Content ID Issues (YouTube)
For YouTube channels, unresolved copyright claims or Content ID matches are a major red flag. Remove or replace flagged content, and only use royalty-free music/footage going forward.
5. Insufficient Traffic or Engagement
While AdSense doesn't publish a minimum traffic number, sites/channels with near-zero engagement are harder to approve. Build a small, genuine audience first — see our YouTube Monetization Guide for tips on growing watch time and subscribers the right way.
6. Policy Violations
Adult content, violence, hate speech, or content promoting dangerous activities will always be rejected. Review Google's Content Policies carefully.
